Sometimes, our writing needs a mirror—someone to read what we have written in order to find the through line of Truth and beauty. Pulling the thread in books written by women is truly my life's work, and I come to the process with a ton of reverence and awe. Our words have always been dangerous, and with me, we will pinpoint where you are swallowing the words and let them free.I've written and published eight novels, one novella, a nonfiction book on indie publishing, and a poetry collection. I come to your work with the knowledge of what it feels like to be almost there in landing a scene, and also, how it feels to hide from the story that is trying to be told.
My developmental editing approach is part intuition, part experience, and part past-life of a high school English teacher with a degree in English and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.
I have the ability to find the thread of your story and pluck it for gold. It's more than getting to know your story and characters and plot. It's about getting to know you and what is driving you to write this work. Developmental editing and story coaching are the two things I've consistently been pulled back to over the past decade. Putting my ear to the groundwork of your story, listening for the whispers of what your soul is trying to say, and helping you develop plot and characters and pacing so that every thing sings with your voice is one of my favorite things to do.We’ll use Google Docs as a tool and I’ll have your manuscript completed with detailed notes and questions within two weeks—can be coupled with Story Work sessions to get more guidance out of the experience.Within 24 hours of you purchasing Gold on the Floor, I will reach out to finalize details. Novelist Wild: Creative Midwifery

This coaching and editing container is for the authors who are looking for ways to harness the potency of their own magic and move forward in getting their books out of their bones and into the world. This is different from developmental editing. Developmental editing happens after you’ve written your story and you need help in pulling the threads. Novelist Wild is for when you have the story, but want the ongoing help in making sure you stay true to the channel you’ve been given. You’re ready to dive in, and you have the story you know you’re meant to share.
This is for those who write books as spells for healing.
We will go deep. I will use all of my skills of intuitive guidance and trauma informed coaching to approach your story with the reverence it deserves. But also, I will hold you within that container as well. At all times, and in all ways, you get to decide because you are the author and you hold the pen.
I will be your mirror, holding up the truth that you already know.
What it includes:
Bi-weekly coaching sessions where we walk through what you’ve written and where you’re stuck. This is where the developmental editing comes in handy. During these sessions we might also pull cards, venture away from the manuscript and into what’s getting you stuck, and other holistic approaches in my tool belt (always with your consent).
