Welcome to the cave.

There once was a time where women would gather in caves.

These were sacred grottos—a space for sisterhood and connection. Priestesses, these women would come together in order to rest, in order to heal, and in order to practice with each other their own form of connecting with the divine. Magic, if you will.

For years, I’ve dreamed of creating a space just like this. For years my women and I have utilized the cave as a way to explain our need for silence. But always, when we exit the cave, there is a lesson waiting to be shared—an integration that comes from getting low enough to hear the whispers of the goddess.

That is this space.

I’m choosing a paywall for this community intentionally, rooted in the voices of women who have come before me and demanded to be seen and celebrated within their own power and ability to wield words, creating new threads and new worlds of possibility. They didn’t always have the ability to set up the boundary that not everyone deserves your story—and in this space I will pluck that thread loose and let it grow. I hope in its wake, what is created is a space for you to explore all of the parts of you—the shadow, the light, the magic, the fear, the doubt, the anger—nothing is left abandoned.

There will be grittiness at times, but also an undercurrent of hope and healing. My writing has always been a way for me to plumb deep into the vein of truth to figure out what it is I need to do next. As my friend Mandy Steward says, rush not the healing—and this space is where we can rest in that Truth.

Our words have always been dangerous.

It is a dangerous thing to lift the Truth out of ash and hold it to the light for all to see, and so your financial contribution and connection to this space is something I do not take lightly.

May our journey to the creative underworld be ripe with inspiration and clarity. And may our lungs be clear of the dust of the past so that when we speak, we speak from the truth of our soul.

If I could start again, I would install an altar within me. I would place the most sacred object inside it: my own heart.
